Broken Promises

Broken Promises

When it comes to government, is there any other kind?

Pfizer was to bring a bevy of new jobs and increased tax revenue to the town of New London, or so we were told as justification for the plunder of its citizens.

Pfizer, the drug company whose neighboring research facility had been the original cause of the homes’ seizure, has just announced that it is closing up shop in New London. To lure those jobs to New London a decade ago, the local government promised to demolish the older residential neighborhood adjacent to the land Pfizer was buying for next-to-nothing.

If the courts will do this in such blatant disregard for plain language of the constitution, they are capable of doing anything else. These are dark times.
